Santa Barbara Fiber Arts Guild meets the1st Saturday of each month NEW LOCATION: Presidio Springs Community Center, 721 Laguna St. (Between De la Guerra and Ortega. Off street parking is available in the lot directly across Laguna Street. Drop-offs only in the lot next to the community center.)

.April 3rd - Bus trip to FIDM -

The April meeting will be a fun field trip by bus to see the exhibit of costumes nominated for this year's Academy Awards and shopping in the fabric area of the garment district in downtown Los Angeles. The costumes are on display at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in downtown LA. After viewing the show and shopping at FIDM's outlet store, we will enjoy a box lunch in the park next door to FIDM. Then on to do some shopping and exploring in the garment district. In just a few blocks, you'll find almost every kind of fashion and home decor fabric (cotton, silks, ultrasuade, etc.), ribbons, pillow forms, braiding, tassels, notions and things you never thought of! We'll spend two hours exploring and shopping and then board the bus to go home. For Guild members, the trip is $10. For your friends who are not members, the cost is $20 and includes lunch. We meet (promptly!) at 7:30 am at The Page Youth Center, 4540 Hollister Ave (near Turnpike). The bus will leave the garment district at 3:15 pm to return to the Page Youth Center.
